Spring Plates

I've been on the look out for decorative plates to replace the winter snowflakes ones hanging in the kitchen.  When I saw these at TJ Maxx, I knew they were the ones, but when I got them home and in place they just didn't look right.

The plate racks were white and the plates were white and on a light wall color it just didn't mesh very well. So what did I do?

Take a look at the before and after

After with Spring Plate

I love the new color!

I have two of these hanging on the wall and one sitting on the counter.

Here is the winter before and spring after of that one.

This is a great way to add a little Spring to your kitchen.

Decorating for Spring and Easter

Last week I shared a thrifty table that I transformed.

You can read about it here.

Let's take a look at the Vignette I created for this table.

Not So Great After All

Have you ever had an idea that you thought was so great that you amazed yourself with your creativity and you couldn't wait to see it come together?  I thought I was a genius when I came up with this idea.  I couldn't imagine it being anything less than magnificent!

Now I consider it a work in progress.

It didn't turn out as Magnificent as I had envisioned, but that's OK because I know with a few additions this will turn out to be something I will be proud of.

I took three canvases that I bought at Dollar Tree a few years ago and painted over the existing pictures.

Next I printed three graphics from The Graphics Fairy.
The Graphics Fairy

And used Mod Podge to adhere them to the canvas.

I aged them a bit with watered down paint.

We had a full length mirror that was broken some time ago and I saved the frame.  I thought it would be a good idea to put these items together.

It needs something else so I will live with it a day or two and see what I can come up with.
