And we're off!

Welcome to the inaugural post of Inspiration Overload!  I am so excited to be able to share with others my love of all things beautiful, thrifty, and creative.  I would love to show you how I put my "spin" on the things I find while scouring for bargains.  I will show you what I buy, where I bought it, and were it ends up in our home.

We moved from Arkansas, where we lived our entire lives, to Ohio so my husband could take a new job.  We are currently renting and love the area we chose, now it's time to decorate!  In the upcoming days and weeks I will go room by room showing you what I have accomplished so far and what I have planned for each room.

I have so many ideas swirling through my head, hence the name of my blog "Inspiration Overload!"  Sometimes I am unable to focus and decide what I want to work on first.  I may have 5 or 6 projects going at once, and who know how many projects I have wanted to do and forgot before I could get to them.  The key to getting this under control is going to be organization and hopefully I can do that by blogging and documenting.

The Holidays are fast approaching so let's see if I can get this under control and have a beautiful and memorable Holiday season.  We are throwing around the idea of having a Christmas party in early December, so if that takes place I will share all the planning and preparation that will go into it.

I want to share a purchase I made a few weeks ago.  I bought two mismatched candle holders at Goodwill for a total of $6.00.  The only problem is, they were UUUgly!

Well, maybe not too bad, but they just didn't go together.  Let me just stop right here and tell you...I LOVE PAINT!  If I don't like it and it's able to be painted, I WILL paint it.  I will even take all the paint I have and mix colors to make new colors.  It's just something I love to do, and I do it often.

Don't laugh just yet, this is not the finished product.  I had you worried, didn't I?  It may take me 5 steps to complete a project, or it may take 50, it all depends on when I feel it is right.  I let the piece speak to me I guess.

Here is the finished set of candle holders, now they look as if they were made to go together.  This is what I love to do and I look forward to sharing with you as I sort through this mess inside my head I like to call inspiration overload.

  1. I love how you changed those candlesticks to match and look so rich! I look forward to reading your blog. The house you rented looks like an old historic home! It's very pretty. Welcome to blogland! It appears that you are brand new. I haven't been blogging long myself. Thanks for stopping by and becoming a follower. I'll do the same for you.
