New Look for a Tired Table

This table needed a new look, it was old, tired, and had damage that required a deep sanding.

I love a good round table.  They look beautiful sitting in a bay window with a seasonal vignette displayed, or a large foyer with a big bouquet of flowers.

When getting ready to paint a new piece, I go to my "Painted Furniture" board on Pinterest for inspiration.  Feel free to find your own inspiration HERE.

For this project I used THIS.  I loved the color combination!

I started by giving it a good coat of primer.

The top took several coats of black with a good quality roller.

The bottom was painted Gray with White dry brushed over the top.

I sealed the top with a couple of coats of sealer, being careful not to leave any roller marks (that was the hard part).

A nice Fall vignette on top and I love the new look.

Furniture Flip - 2 Nightstands

I purchased 2 Nightstands, one at Habitat for Humanity Re-Store for $12.00, and the other at Goodwill for $6.00.

I wanted to give them a uniform look so they could be sold as a set.

After removing the hardware and applying primer, I choose my paint color.

The similar handles that were used kept each piece unique but at the same time helped to bring unity.

Fall Vignette

I love the colors of Fall, I love the deep reds, oranges, greens.  I actually just love color, and fall colors bring so much drama.

I created this vignette using lots of texture, some store bought elements and some from my own yard.

I even included a couple of DIY projects that brings some colorful patterns to the mix.

You can see how to create these for yourself HERE.

DIY Fall Decor

Looking for a fun DIY project to add a little Fall to your décor?

Here is a fun, quick, and inexpensive project using old picture frames.

Materials:

Old Frame (no glass)
Cardboard
Burlap
Scrapbook paper of your choice

An antique looking frame compliments the Fall colors that were used.

Burlap was used to cover cardboard that was cut to fit tightly into the frame.

The use of burlap adds texture.

The perfect combination, Chevron & Fall colors!

I found a pumpkin template, printed it out, and cut it out.  You can find the same I used

All cut out

Using a scrap piece of cardboard, fold two edges down and glue the pumpkin to the flat side.

 A look at the underneath.

 A 3-D work of art

After getting to this point, I decided it needed even more dimension.  To mimic a real pumpkin, creases were added from top to bottom.

 The finished product!

This was created using chip board letters and coordinating scrapbook paper.

Side note:  The Chevron scrapbook paper and chip board letters can be found at Hobby Lobby.

Next up:  See how these were used to create a Fall Vignette.
